Leave the code a little better than you found it. Small tidy-ups as part of normal work, not separate projects.
gf-isomorphic
gf-isomorphic is for code shared between the frontend and backend. Tidy it as you go:
- Move FE/BE shared types there. If a type is used by both
gf-appand the backend, it belongs ingf-isomorphic. Types shared only between backend services don't go here. - Delete duplicates when you find them. If you spot a local copy of a type that already exists in
gf-isomorphic, switch to the shared one. - Keep it isomorphic. No Node-only or browser-only dependencies — it must run in both.
- Keep it small and pure. Types, schemas, constants and pure helpers only. No service logic, DB access or side effects.
- Only touch what's near your change. Tidy the code your PR already touches; don't turn a story into a refactor. Bigger clean-ups go on the Tech Debt Radar.
- Same PR is fine. Small moves can ride along with your change — call them out in the PR summary so reviewers know.
