Releasing the n8n node

n8n-nodes-goodfit is released from GoodFit-io/n8n-nodes-goodfit. Pushing a tag stages the version on npm, and it goes public once someone approves it on npm as goodfit-io (integrations@goodfit.io; the 2FA codes are in the team password manager).

  1. Merge a PR that bumps version in package.json (npm version 0.1.3 --no-git-tag-version) and adds the release to CHANGELOG.md.

  2. Tag main and push the tag:

    git checkout main && git pull
    git tag -a 0.1.3 -m "Release 0.1.3"
    git push origin 0.1.3

    The Publish workflow tests, builds and stages the version on npm.

  3. On npmjs.com, logged in as goodfit-io, the package page shows the version as Staged:

    Follow Review it in Staged Packages, check the version and that the Trusted Publisher is GitHub Actions, then Approve:

  4. Check the release is latest (npm can take a minute to show it) and passes n8n's scanner:

    npx @n8n/scan-community-package n8n-nodes-goodfit
